Zzzzzzzz...
An international sleeping day. This is because working people and students do not have enough time to rest. This kind of holiday would give them a welcome break, helping them to catch up on lost sleep and easing the pressure caused by work or studies.

Hands off
A No Mobile Phones Day. Nowadays a lot of people are glued to their phones and forget about friends and family. On this day, all Wi-fi networks would be disabled and everyone would be allowed to take the day off. It would encourage people to spend more time with their family and friends and build a closer relationship with them. It would also show us how important it is to communicate with our loved ones and teach us not to be over-dependent on our phones.

A day in their shoes
A Sneaker Holiday for Hongkongers. I am a sneaker lover, so it would be great to have such a holiday. On this day, brands such as Nike and Adidas would hold different activities to teach people about sneakers and the complex culture behind them. They can also create special, limited-edition sneakers for this day.

Climate holiday
It’s getting hotter every year, and research has shown that we’ll have a hot Christmas in the future. So, I propose an Environment Day, which would be a public holiday. This can help make Hong Kong a better place to live while raising awareness of a serious problem.

For Hong Kong's street sweepers
A day when streets cleaners would be allowed to have a well-deserved rest. I would call it No Cleaner Day. They clean the streets come rain or shine. Especially after a typhoon, they work very hard but we never thank them. On “No Cleaner Day”, all other adults would be told to clear the rubbish on our streets, residential estates, and other building premises.

Pet day
A holiday for pets! This is because many owners are very busy at work so they don’t spend enough time with their pets. The owners could spend a whole day with their pets during the holiday.

White collar holiday
An International Office Worker Holiday. Office workers work very hard every day, and when they get home, they are very tired. They’ll get to enjoy this wonderful holiday on August 3.

Leap year day
A holiday on February 29. This “leap day” is very special because it happens once every four years, just like the football World Cup and the Olympic Games. We need the leap day because the Earth does not orbit the sun in exactly 365 days. It takes around six hours more, so if we didn’t have the leap day, we would lose around six hours off our calendar every year. That means around 24 days every 100 years. That’s a lot! The universe is really amazing.
