The Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority has released the 2020 HKDSE timetable, along with the result release date. Written examinations will begin on March 27 and end on May 2, 2020 while the results release day for Categories A and B subjects is tentatively scheduled for July 8 2020.
The results release day for Category C (Other Language Subjects) examinations will be announced in January next year.
According to a circular the exam authority issued to schools yesterday, the four core subjects, including Chinese Language, English Language, Liberal Studies and Mathematics Compulsory Part will be held from March 30 to April 7 next year.
For elective subjects, the ones that have an SBA component have been scheduled earlier, with Visual Arts being the first subject to be assessed, while Tourism & Hospitality will be the last one tested. The exam authority said they have conducted subject combination simulations to minimise the number of candidates who need to take exams on two or three days in a row.
The Chinese Language speaking examinations will be held from the second week to the third week of March, while the English Language speaking examinations will take place from early to mid-May.
The exam authority also alerted some schools to be prepared for class suspensions of up to four days in order to free up classrooms as examination venues, due to the large entries of the two language subjects and special venue requirements.
