Shoot, loot, glide and build your way to victory in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite, like many of its battle royale game competitors, have jumped onto the mobile gaming platform by releasing their own mobile version of the game to the Apple App Store. Here are a few tips to help you dominate each game and score yourself that Victory Royale!

Controls, Controls, Controls

Fortnite on the iOS is exactly the same as its versions on the PC and consoles. But because you lack a controller or keyboard, you will be force to use your phones touchscreen. No matter if you are a seasoned veteran or just a beginner, everyone is relearning the controls. Practice makes perfect, and switching between combat and building mode while running is vital to dominating at Fortnite.

Master Builders will always win

If you are coming over from the PC or console version of the game, you already know the importance of building. As mentioned above it is important to be good with your controls, this applies even more towards building quickly and smoothly. Building a set of stairwells to flank and surprise your enemies, or even building wall to protect yourself from gunfire can result in wins.

Use headphones

In battle royale games, your ability to hear things before they arrive is essential to securing the win. On a phone you might be tempted to play with the sound on mute, especially in public areas. Using headphones will give you an edge over your opponents. Hearing where gunshots are coming from will give you a virtual position of the opponents. This will allow you to plan your attack carefully or avoid the fight completely.

No headphones? Use the visual cues

Don’t have your headphones with you? No worries. Fortnite mobile implements visual cues for footsteps, gunshots and treasure chests near you. Always take notice of these visual cues (as represented by circular waves in the direction of action), as you can claim high quality loot from nearby chests or approach a firefight with the most optimal strategy.

Get up close and personal

If you think playing on a much smaller screen is a challenge already, imagine aiming down the sights for the winning kill on a shaky mobile device. If you don’t have a sniper rifle, don’t even attempt a long range gunfight. The smarter and more logical approach will be to sneak up on your enemies with a shotgun and blast them away.
