After long absence from China, Jack Ma makes rare appearance to visit school in Hangzhou

Alibaba founder Jack Ma has returned to China after nearly a year of overseas travel, visiting a school in the city of Hangzhou. On March 28, 2023, Ma met teachers and students at the Hangzhou Yungu School, a private school he founded in 2017. Alibaba also owns the South China Morning Post. Some analysts have drawn a positive correlation between the number of public appearances Ma makes, and the friendliness of the Beijing government towards private businesses in China.
