Ancient Buddhist statues discovered with traces of gold, silver and coloured glass

Gold and silver elements, as well as coloured glass have been discovered on ancient Buddhist statues in Longmen Grottoes, a Unesco World Heritage Site in China’s central Henan province. The findings have been made since December 2021, as part of a reinforcement and protection project of the site.
