MC Tenzin is a rapper based in Tibet who turned his back on village life and marriage to drop beats instead. The musical wordsmith said his parents had wanted him to stay home and enter into fraternal polyandry, a once common practice where at least two brothers marry the same wife. Instead, Tenzin left Lhasa to pursue his hip-hop dreams and now the self-described “godfather of Tibetan rap” is focused on making music that spreads positive energy to everyone.
