China celebrates National Day ‘Golden Week’ holiday with colour and crowds

China is celebrating “Golden Week” as the country marks the 69th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China on October 1. As domestic tourism surges year-on-year, highways are packed, and tourist attractions overcrowded during the week-long national holiday. All across China special events are organised and tourist businesses are running at full capacity.
