Ruby Franke, the disgraced YouTuber convicted of abusing her children, may be in prison, but her estranged husband Kevin Franke has shocked netizens with his recent comments too – here’s the lowdown

Kevin Franke has left netizens outraged after he confessed to still loving his wife Ruby Franke, the YouTuber who was convicted of abusing their two youngest children.

“I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving her,” he explained in an interview with Good Morning America. “Does that mean that I want to let her back into my life? Let her back into my kids’ lives? Absolutely not.”

The 46-year-old also spoke to People magazine ahead of the release of Hulu’s Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke, released on February 27. “I’m not ashamed to say that after being married over 20 years to that woman, I truly did and still do love her,” he told the magazine. “But that doesn’t excuse what she did, and it doesn’t excuse how she hurt our children and how she hurt me.” Kevin was never charged with any crimes.

Ruby Franke pleaded guilty in December to four counts of aggravated child abuse and was sentenced to one to 15 years in prison on each charge. Beginning in 2015, Franke ran a since-deleted YouTube channel called 8 Passengers, which provided parenting advice. After separating from her husband, she also featured on a YouTube channel run by her business partner, Utah-based life coach Jodi Hildebrandt.

Kevin is an engineering consultant, according to People magazine. He has a YouTube channel called Office Hours where he posts about his work. “This is the YouTube channel for Dr Kevin Franke and his geotechnical/earthquake engineering courses at Brigham Young University,” the page declares in the bio. However, the most recent video was uploaded over three years ago.
