Advice and career reflections from the Young Post team

Ampower Talent Institute recently launched the Career Planning App (Proof of Concept) Design Competition, asking students to design an app that other teenagers can use to explore their future career options.

“We believe that early exposure to career development at a young age will help students to set academic goals and eventually find out their career aspirations,” said Sophia Chan-Yap, the NGO’s chief executive.

She hoped that, through this competition, students will be able to learn about different careers, helping them in the future to “make wise choices in accordance with their personality, interests, potentials and orientations for a promising career and a bright future”.

There are five categories under the competition, and students can enter more than one category as an individual participant or as a team of at most four students.

They will be judged on, for example, how good the app’s overall user experience is, and the app’s functionalities.

All full-time students from Primary Five to Secondary Six in Hong Kong are eligible to take part.

Ampower Talent will pick up to 150 winners, half of them from primary schools and the rest from secondary schools. Submission deadline is January 2 next year.
