As the Covid-19 virus out of Wuhan, China, spreads around the world, nations scramble to respond with tighter checks on citizens and visitors. So far, we know that it spreads from human to human, and that symptoms include a fever, coughing and difficulty breathing.
Experts have identified the virus as a coronavirus, the same kind of pathogen as that which caused Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, which killed more than 800 people in 2002/03 and also started in China.
As events are reported, we will insert them on the day they happened, so some new reports might be further down the timeline.

Thousands of people worldwide are reporting a wide range of ongoing symptoms many months after being diagnosed with Covid-19. And for many, the anxiety, depression and dread around the unknown progression of the disease are at least as debilitating as the physical frailties.
