Calling all young readers and aspiring journalists! Young Post is thrilled to open applications for our 2025 summer internship programme, with limited spots available.

In this programme, you will be a junior reporter for both Young Post and Posties. You will work in the exciting newsroom alongside the YP team, including our reporters and editors. The internship is a unique chance to hone your creative and technical skills. You will get to pitch story ideas, interview interesting people, attend local events, write articles and get published.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Reliable, dedicated, and mature secondary students in Hong Kong in Form Five (equivalent to Year 12 and Grade 11) or above.

  • Strong writing skills and an interest in journalism are a plus.

  • Highlight any unique talents or experiences that make you stand out.

  • Previous contributions to Young Post (e.g., letters, Face Off, Top 10 etc) are a bonus – please share details of your involvement to boost your chances, as this programme is highly competitive.

Programme details

Location: South China Morning Post office, Times Square, Causeway Bay.
Duration: Each cohort lasts three weeks (full attendance required).

  • Cohort 1: July 14 – August 1, 2025

  • Cohort 2: August 4 – August 22, 2025

Work schedule: Interns work 5 days a week, 8 hours per day, with possible overtime depending on project needs.

Note: This is an unpaid internship, and no prior internship experience is needed.
