Justin Bieber’s ‘Yummy’ music video reaction: Thoughts we had when seeing the visuals and lyrics for the first time
The Canadian popstar dropped the MV for the first single of his fifth album earlier this week

“Yeah, you got that yummy-yum/That yummy-yum, that yummy-yummy/Yeah, you got that yummy-yum” Former teen idol and newly-married Canadian popstar Justin Bieber just dropped the first single off his as-yet-untitled fifth studio album. Biebes premiered the music video on YouTube on Monday. Allow us to break it down for you.
Everything is...cringey
Unlike Cats the movie, where the trailer was a lot more cringey than the actual film, the music video for this song is just the opposite. From Justin Bieber’s pink and platinum blond hairdo, to him constantly bobbing his head like he’s having a seizure, almost everything about this video is quite disturbing. Oh, as if that wasn’t enough, at around 2:21, his face was distorted for a split second, which tripled the length of his chin.
What’s with all the Jellies?
While it’s hard to pick out the most disturbing scene in this music video, the vomit-inducing shot of jelly dessert, especially the green jelly shot at 1:05.

And don’t even get us started about the accompanying ASMR Sticky Sounds, you know, like those YouTube videos with people making weird noises with slime, soap cutting, running over soft and crunchy things with a car - just to name a few.
Kitty and sushi
After being blasted by animal rights organisations for buying designer cats instead of adopting them and modelling himself as a good example to his fans, the Biebes fought back and posted on Instagram saying that they should just “leave [them] alone”.
Luckily for fans whose hearts have melted into a puddle because of these adorable and beautiful animals, one of the kittens made a split-second cameo.
Ad alert
Drew House slippers, Bieber’s own brand of affordable yet fashionable footwear, were mentioned in the lyrics. Take notes, entrepreneurs - even when he’s releasing a new single he’s still shilling his other products.
Brighter note
On a brighter note, the video uses many different filming techniques, such as the insanely cool dolly zoom, where the subject appears to be sitting still as the backdrop gets either zoomed in or out.
