Iran’s security chief outlines transitional process following Supreme leader Khamenei’s death

Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani said the transition process following the killing of Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would begin from Sunday, March 1, 2026. In an interview broadcast on state TV, Larijani warned against attempts to divide Iran following Khamenei’s death. The Supreme leader and several other high ranking officials were killed after the US and Israel launched a wave of air strikes on Iran on February 28.
