The Hong Kong government has ordered scaffolding nets be taken down at about 200 construction sites in the city. Firms have three days to meet the deadline. It follows allegations over falsified safety certificates. The order came in the wake of the fire at the Wang Fuk Court housing estate in Tai Po on November 26, 2025. The blaze was the city’s deadliest in seven decades, and authorities said the scaffolding nets used in the renovation of the estate did not meet safety standards.
