December 3 marks one week since a devastating fire started at the Wang Fuk Court housing estate in Tai Po. The five alarm blaze was Hong Kong’s deadliest in seven decades. At least 156 people are confirmed dead, and authorities are still working on recovering and identifying victims. Hong Kong observed three days of mourning for the victims of the fire. Families of the deceased took part in traditional Taoist ceremonies at the site. Thousands laid flowers and other tributes at a makeshift altar and other areas in the neighbourhood.
