China completes maiden pre-delivery test flight of C919 commercial passenger aircraft

China’s C919 commercial passenger aircraft completed its maiden pre-delivery test flight on May 14, 2022. The milestone came after 14 years of development by state-owned jet maker Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac). The entry of a Chinese player into the global commercial passenger aircraft market could disrupt the long-held duopoly of Airbus and Boeing.
