Japan’s delivery workers press on despite fierce heatwave in the country

Some areas in Japan recorded temperatures as high as 40 degrees Celsius (104°F) in recent weeks, prompting use of new designation ‘cruelly hot day’.

On the streets of Tokyo, delivery workers for one of the largest logistics companies in Japan braved the nation’s latest heatwave to complete their rounds. According to Japanese authorities, nearly 18,600 people were taken to hospital suffering from heatstroke between July 20 and 26.
