Embodied Perspectives

WKM Gallery presents a group exhibition featuring six contemporary Japanese painters: Soh Souen, Iori Nagashima, Koji Yamaguchi, Jun Tsunoda, Kohei Yamada and Momo Yoshino. The show highlights the visceral connection between the body and the act of painting, spotlighting a variety of styles from minimal abstraction to intricate figuration. An intriguing exploration into the rich landscape of contemporary Japanese painting and its promising future.

Hong Kong Poetry

Hong Kong is an electric blend of untameable energy and intimate serenity, a contradiction captured in Blue Lotus Gallery’s latest group photography exhibition, “Hong Kong Poetry”. Bringing together heavyweights such as Fan Ho, Palani Mohan, Thomas Gust and Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze, the show is a contemplative ode to all the variegated facets of our complex city through the ages.

Sasaoka Yuriko: Animale

In “Animale”, Osaka-born artist Sasaoka Yuriko explores the ambiguous relationship between humans and animals through immersive gesamtkunstwerk installations. Highlighted by surreal sound and video works, her pieces feature anthropomorphised creatures that question notions of human superiority and emphasise shared experiences of labour and dependence, inviting viewers to reconsider their assumptions about the natural world.

Wing Po So: Take Turns

Hong Kong artist Wing Po So’s new exhibition explores the intersections of nature, the body and materiality. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in a family-run Chinese medicine shop, So repurposes salvaged drawers from traditional Chinese pharmacies as vessels for transformative healing. These worn surfaces become platforms for artistic experimentation with Chinese herbs, rocks, kinetic sculptures and 3D-printed objects. The immersive installation dissolves boundaries between the organic and inorganic, creating an ecosystem that reflects cycles of preservation, decay and regeneration.
