Russia fired ballistic missiles at the southern Ukrainian industrial cities of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad overnight, killing at least four people and wounding six, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Oleksandr Hanzha, said on Telegram on Tuesday.
The casualties occurred in Dnipro, he said, where people are still believed to be trapped under the rubble of a hit industrial facility.
The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed attacks on Ukraine’s metals, chemicals, energy and arms industries, in a Telegram post. It said cruise missiles and combat drones were used in addition to missiles.
In the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, air raid alerts sounded several times overnight. Three people were injured in drone attacks, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
A logistics facility caught fire and a five-storey residential building was damaged.

Ukrainian armed forces attacked the refinery in the Russian city of Samara on the Volga River with drones, Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels reported. A fire broke out at the facility, according to the reports.
A drone attack on industrial facilities killed one person and damaged civilian objects but had otherwise been repelled, Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev wrote on Telegram.
Russia has been trying since early 2022 to subjugate Ukraine with a large-scale invasion.
Diplomatic efforts to end the war have so far produced no result. They were to be continued on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was set to speak with US President Donald Trump.

Ukraine will also be urging the international community to pressure Russia into allowing humanitarian aid into the hunger-stricken southern town of Oleshky, Kyiv’s foreign ‌minister said.
Some 6,000 residents of the Russian-occupied town and nearby area in Ukraine’s Kherson region – including 200 children – were “dying from hunger and cold” under a “full blockade” by Russian forces, Andrii Sybiha said in a Facebook video on Monday.
“The occupiers are not allowing humanitarian aid through. We have been negotiating evacuation for a long time … and Russia is giving no reply,” ⁠said Sybiha, who is in New York for the annual UN gathering.

“We will talk about ‌Oleshky here, at the highest level, and we will apply pressure so that the world hears this and makes Russia provide humanitarian access.”
The Kremlin said ‌on Monday that the town was facing critical problems with food and medicine supplies, but ⁠that Russia’s military was working ⁠to resolve them.


The plight of civilians in the frontline town on the Dnipro River, ‌which separates Russian and Ukrainian forces, has drawn growing concern from international monitors.
