The Circle K convenience store chain in Hong Kong has resumed digital payment services after suspending them for more than a week due to a cyberattack, but bill payment services and loyalty programme functions remain unavailable.

Circle K Hong Kong, which operates nearly 400 outlets in the city, said on Tuesday evening that its stores had resumed QR code, credit card and contactless payments.

Top-up services such as Alipay, WeChat Pay and Octopus were also now available, it added.

However, EPS payments, bill payment services and voucher, stamp collecting and redemption functions under Circle K’s loyalty programme remained suspended, the company said.

“We continue to work diligently to restore those services as soon as possible,” Circle K said in a statement posted on social media.
