Cantonese speaker Adekunbi Hassan Salako did not know that an Instagram video about Africa would get tens of thousands of likes from Hongkongers.

Starting his reel, Salako says: “This is for those who think Africa has nothing.

“A lot of people asked me if there are a lot of animals to see in Nigeria. Actually, Nigeria has much more to offer. We do not commute by riding horses, we have cars. We do have air conditioners and electric fans.”

The video has garnered 103,202 likes and it is among many reels on Salako’s Instagram account, kunbifusion.

Salako, who starts all his videos in the same format and calls himself the “African Prince”, has won the hearts of many locals with his funny skits and daily musings with his 30-year-old girlfriend, Zoe Sung Wai-man.

From cooking Nigerian food in their flat to bringing Sung around his hometown of Lagos, Salako has gained more than 100,000 followers since posting his first video this January.
