A Hong Kong policeman drew his gun to subdue a knifeman after a street fight between two masked gangs in Yuen Long on Tuesday.

At noon, a citywide search by the district’s anti-triad squad was under way for the other gang members.

The case was first reported soon after 10am, when officers from the Emergency Unit were called to Yuen Long On Lok Road.

“A passer-by called police saying there was a fight between two gangs of men who were wearing masks and armed with knives,” a police spokesman said.

When officers arrived, a 28-year-old man carrying a knife and suffering cuts on his leg was found outside On Lok Industrial Building on the same street. Police said the others had fled.
