Weezer bassist Scott Shriner’s wife Jillian Lauren has been shot by police in Los Angeles, then arrested for attempted murder, according to TMZ.
On Tuesday afternoon, police were responding to a hit-and-run in the city when three unidentified suspects fled the scene on foot. One of the suspects was discovered in the back garden of a home next to Shriner’s house, and Lauren came out with a gun in her hand. When officers told her to drop her weapon she reportedly ignored multiple commands. She was shot in the shoulder and ran back into the house, before surrendering 30 minutes later.
The 51-year-old, who underwent cancer treatment just weeks prior, has since been released on a US$1 million bond, notes The Independent.
