Meet Busta Rhymes’ son Trillian Wood-Smith, who’s followed his dad into hip-hop: at just 24, he has his own music label and has already had a song blow up on US radio

‘He ain’t even trynna do what Dad is doing – he found his own path,’ says Busta Rhymes, who’s joined this year’s Glastonbury line-up alongside Doechii, Olivia Rodrigo and Charli XCX
Rhymes has an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, with 12 Grammy nominations, and hits such as “It’s a Party”, “Turn It Up (Remix) / Fire It Up”, “Gimme Some More” and “What’s It Gonna Be?!”.

The 52-year-old rapper, who has six kids with four different women, proved that talent runs in the family when he collaborated with his daughters Cacie (credited as Cién) and Mariah (credited as Rai), and son Trillian on his August 2024 release, “Legacy”.
However it’s Trillian who’s been making waves in the music industry, ever since he released his latest single, “Show Me Your Love”.

During an appearance this month on Fox’s Good Day Today, Busta Rhymes – whose real name is Trevor George Smith Jr – praised his son, who was sitting next to him.
“What I love about how he creates is the most beautiful thing that you can have as a father and a son: that he ain’t even trynna do what Dad is doing – he found his own path, his own way, his own journey, his own style,” the “Calm Down” rapper said.
