Nicolas Cage’s ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton is suing the Hollywood actor and their son Weston Cage over ‘life-threatening injuries’ she says she sustained in an alleged fight last year

Nicolas Cage’s ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton is suing the Hollywood actor and their son Weston Cage over “life-threatening injuries” she says she sustained in an alleged fight last year, according to the BBC.

She says she visited her son in April 2024 after receiving “urgent messages” from his friends, the lawsuit states. Upon arrival, she alleges that he attacked her in a “manic rage”, leaving her with multiple contusions, neck and throat injuries, a concussion, PTSD and more. As for Cage, Fulton alleges that he was aware of their son’s “long history of mental and psychological disorder” but has continued to enable the behaviour by providing financial support. The lawsuit adds that Cage has bailed their son out of prison multiple times and would drink alcohol with him despite being aware of his alleged struggles with substance abuse.

The 57-year-old is suing her 34-year-old son for assault and battery, and Cage, 61, for negligence, the lawsuit states.

The Longlegs actor’s lawyer, Brian Wolf, shared a statement to the BBC calling the lawsuit “absurd”. “Weston Coppola is a 34 year old man,” Wolf said. “Mr Cage does not control Weston’s behaviour in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.” Weston’s lawyer, meanwhile, said that Fulton’s decision to file a lawsuit “appears to be nothing short of a money grab and call for attention”.
