Ivana Rodríguez is the sister of Cristiano Ronaldo’s wife Georgina Rodríguez, but rumours of a rift between the siblings have emerged after the Netflix star unfollowed her on Instagram
Ronaldo, five-time Ballon d’Or winner and captain of Portugal and the Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, took to Instagram to congratulate her: “For [the] mother, partner, friend, my wife … Happy birthday, love. Your light illuminates us and your love infects us.”
Although there’s been no hint of a wedding between Ronaldo and his long term partner Rodríguez, the footballer has repeatedly referred to her as his wife in recent months, leading many to believe the pair have now tied the knot.
But not everything has been so loving in Rodríguez’s life recently. In November, she seemingly erased all traces of her sister Ivana from her Instagram account, sparking serious rumours of a family fallout.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Georgina digitally distanced herself, scrubbing her feed of any photos with Ivana, 34 and reportedly unfollowing her. Naturally, the move raised eyebrows. Per the Daily Mail, fans also started speculating after Ivana’s noticeable absence from the second season of reality show I Am Georgina on Netflix. But there’s no official word on what might have caused a rift.

Ivana and Georgina had a difficult youth
Spanish-born Ivana moved to Argentina with her parents as a young child. Georgina was born in Buenos Aires, but then the family returned to Spain and the sisters grew up together in the small town of Jaca, near the French border, per The Sun. Their bond was strengthened by the challenges they faced together, including their father’s prison sentence for drug trafficking and the loss of their mother in a car accident in 2011.
According to the same outlet, the two attended ballet lessons together and went to Britain to study English before returning to Spain, where they both worked as shop assistants at a Gucci store.
