Cathay reopens flagship lounge at Beijing Airport with new look and features
The new lounge for members, business and first-class travellers includes a speciality teahouse, better temperature control and more

Cathay Pacific has reopened its flagship lounge at Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport after a year-long renovation.
The upgraded space, which promises more comfort for members, business and first-class travellers, is part of a larger plan to open more flagship lounges around the world, including one at the new Terminal 6 at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport within the next year.
“Beijing is one of our most important destinations on the mainland,” says Arnold Cheng, Cathay’s director of Chinese mainland.
Among the new features at the Beijing lounge is a speciality teahouse, a concept replicated from The Pier lounge at Hong Kong International Airport’s Terminal 1.
The tea bar showcases around half a dozen Chinese teas from the London brand Jing. The lounge’s signature tea is Phoenix Oolong, a blend of oolong tea with peach and honey orchid.

The new lounge also has more roofed and enclosed spaces for better temperature control.
