Negroni Week returns for its 14th edition, running from September 21 to 27. Launched in 2013 by the US-based Imbibe Magazine, the annual celebration has grown into a worldwide drink-for-a-cause movement. More than US$5 million (HK$39.2 million) has been raised to date, with proceeds supporting the work of the Slow Food global movement.
This year marks the programme’s most extensive Asia-Pacific presence yet, with visiting bartenders appearing across 18 venues in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Here are a few events happening in Hong Kong.
1. Zuma

Zuma in Central kicks off the week with a double guest shift on September 21, hosting two of Bangkok’s most recognised bar talents for one night only.
The opening party at the Landmark venue will feature Matteo Cadeddu, bar manager of Opium Bangkok – which placed No 25 on this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars list – alongside Michele Montauti, director of beverage and bars at Aman Nai Lert Bangkok.
Between them, they will serve six drinks made with Campari – including a truffle negroni and cafe latte negroni – while Zuma’s own bar team will feature two cocktails available only during the week: a roasted negroni with hojicha gin and a banana negroni fizz with coffee Campari.

2. Qura

To celebrate Negroni Week, Qura has created a three-cocktail menu called L’Avanguardia Italiana that riffs on Italian ingredients and traditions, with each cocktail priced at HK$160.
L’Oliveto takes a savoury route, combining Los Siete Misterios Doba Yej Mezcal, Mancino Rosso Amaranto and Campari with olive and cacao. The result is smoky, briny and bittersweet.
Il Frutteto shifts towards fruit, blending Cascahuin Blanco Tequila, Campari, Vecchia Romagna 18 Brandy, toasted almond, peach and soda water. Think a stone-fruit highball with a bitter Italian spine.
Last but not least, La Drogheria completes the trio with No 3 London Dry Gin, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Rosso and Campari, plus coconut and Abracadabra licorice liqueur.

3. Cassio Social Club

Negroni Night Fever takes over Cassio in Central on September 24, from 7pm to 10pm.
The three-hour free-flow line-up covers the negroni, the rosita and the Campari spritz, with live music from the bar’s resident DJ throughout the night. Tickets are HK$198 plus service charge, making it one of the more accessible ways to dive into the week’s bitter-and-bubbly programme.
For anyone who wants a social, high-energy Negroni Week experience rather than a seated tasting, this is likely to be the stand-out party. It is also a rare chance to try a rosita alongside the classics without committing to a full cocktail menu.

4. Dio

Cosy coffee bar Dio will host a negroni cocktail workshop on September 26, an intimate hands-on session limited to a small group.
Led by Campari’s Oscar Choi and Dio’s bar manager Wing Chan, the workshop covers the history of the Campari brand before guests craft three cocktails of their own: a classic negroni, a Canton negroni and a Garibaldi.
