From contemporary Hokkien cooking and charcoal-fired French grills to glamorous Italian hospitality, new openings in Hong Kong this September promise to bring a diverse array of flavours.

1. Hokkien House

Helmed by Levi You, winner of the Michelin Guide Fujian’s Young Chef Award in its inaugural 2025 edition, Hokkien House puts a contemporary take on Fujian’s coastal and mountainous flavours.
The menu transforms classic regional ingredients, homestyle traditions and street foods into refined dishes, including pan-fried oyster cake with pickled radish and oyster soup, Fuzhou drunken pork ribs, and mangrove mud crab glutinous rice.

2. Il Presidente

Il Presidente promises to bring the glamorous golden era of Italian hospitality to Duddell Street in Central.
Launched by executive chef Marcello Scognamiglio, also behind Wan Chai’s popular Trattoria Felino, the restaurant focuses on elevating recognisable regional comfort foods.
Highlight dishes include indulgent house-made agnolotti all’ossobuco (pasta with veal shank); a giant ricotta and spinach cannelloni; and a decadent stuffed veal chop. The meal is completed by a theatrical churned gelato experience at the table.

3. Aoi By Kaiyo
A playful, modern take on Japanese izakaya dining has officially opened at K11 Musea in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The comprehensive menu at Aoi By Kaiyo features over 100 dishes, including fresh sashimi, charcoal-grilled items and Kansai-style sukiyaki.
Diners can enjoy premium uni (sea urchin), toro sushi Napoleons and customisable seafood DIY wrap sets.

4. 180º Modern Fire Grill

Hora Hospitality Group, which runs French gastronomy concepts Babette and Chouchou, is expanding its portfolio with 180º Modern Fire Grill on Wyndham Street in Central.
This new concept focuses on rustic cooking with a French touch. The menu emphasises rigorous, smoke-kissed execution, featuring premium charcoal-grilled selections, harissa popcorn chicken, lamb shoulder skewers, and rich cast iron pot bone marrow rice.

5. Canton Library

Aqua Restaurant Group, behind venues including Aqua, Hutong, The Chinese Library and Dim Sum Library, has unveiled Canton Library in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Led by executive chefs Junno Li and Leung Kwok-wa, the restaurant serves modern Chinese cuisine celebrating Lingnan coastal traditions.
The hot kitchen spotlights premium seafood using time-honoured southern Chinese techniques, while the modern dim sum menu transforms nostalgic comfort food into new creations.

6. Yukkuri
This popular Kowloon City cafe has brought its signature Japanese antique aesthetic to a quiet corner of Hysan Place in Causeway Bay.
Diners can look forward to dishes such as thick-cut grilled beef tongue paired with zucchini, and a deeply savoury black sesame curry pork slice with soft cabbage, all served with dashi-infused Japanese rice or silky udon.

7. Chiu San

This new Kennedy Town opening debuts Hong Kong’s first fusion of Chiu Chow and Japanese cuisine, served as contemporary teishoku (traditional Japanese set meals).
The menu features stone-grilled USDA prime beef short rib with a rich satay-teriyaki sauce; salt-grilled yellow croaker roasted over an open flame; and a crispy, flash-fried pomegranate-shaped chicken dumpling. Each set includes comforting staples, artisanal tamagoyaki and wagashi desserts.

8. Quan

Quan brings refined contemporary Chinese fine dining to Central. Helmed by chef Justin Yang, the first runner-up of Chinese reality cooking show The Divine Dish season one, the eatery specialises in elevated Fujianese cuisine from his ancestral hometown of Quanzhou.
Diners can expect creations such as Fujian old wine drunken crab, Rongcheng sweet and sour pork, and red rose grouper with chicken oil and sand shallots.

9. Haedam
Haedam is a new Korean restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui that specialises in traditional Busan-style seaweed and kelp soups.
Each order of signature soup, such as the oyster seaweed soup, includes freshly cooked Korean hot stone pot rice, grilled mackerel, crispy seaweed and six exquisite side dishes for a full and satisfying meal.

10. Fello

Award-winning bartender Shelley Tai of Mius has launched Fello, her highly anticipated second venue in a two-storey space on Wyndham Street.
The menu features signature drinks such as the spicy Fello paloma and the pineapple basil smash, which are ideally paired with elevated bar bites, including a tsukune chicken burger and ikura shrimp sando.

11. Pocofino

Philippines-based brand Pocofino has opened a cosy takeaway shop in Wan Chai.
The menu features Italian master chef Matteo Minante’s Neapolitan pizzas certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana – an official designation from Naples, Italy, guaranteeing that the pizzas strictly adhere to centuries-old traditional Neapolitan methods, equipment and specific ingredients.
The menu also features Hong Kong-exclusive sweet fritta (fried pizza) in local egg tart and durian flavours.
8 Ship Street, Wan Chai
12. Tate

Chef Vicky Lau has reopened her restaurant in a grand two-storey residence in Sheung Wan.
Designed by Chris Shao, it incorporates custom furniture and bespoke artisanal ceramics made with local clay.
The refreshed menu blends Chinese seasonality with classical French techniques in inventive ways, with reimagined signature dishes, including an upgraded Ode to Lobster and Ode to Crab.

13. Cafe Landmark

The iconic Cafe Landmark returns to the Landmark Atrium after a complete design and culinary transformation.
Reimagined with the rustic elegance of Tuscany, the open-air restaurant introduces a new menu blending French foundations with Japanese accents.
Diners can enjoy elevated signatures like Boston lobster spaghetti, an upgraded dessert trolley and a new cocktail menu.

14. Draft Land

The draft cocktail bar has expanded to open its first branch in Kowloon.
Operating as a dual-concept lifestyle destination, the space is a Nodi cafe from 8am to 5pm, then serves Draft Land’s signature cocktails on tap.
The Tsim Sha Tsui location also features branch-exclusive coffee-infused cocktails and an elevated snack menu by chef Logan Hester.

15. Abebe Bakery

South Korea’s celebrated Abebe Bakery is making its Hong Kong debut on Mody Road in Tsim Sha Tsui this September.
Known for connecting Jeju Island’s local heritage with artisanal baking, the shop features iconic cream-filled doughnuts and innovative cream buns layered with chewy glutinous rice cakes.

16. Mother Pearl

Mother Pearl has opened a new two-storey flagship store in Central.
The ground floor provides daytime fuel such as espresso creations and sugar-free vegan gelato. Meanwhile, the first floor features the Crafted Bar, where guests can enjoy premium cocktails infused with ancient botanicals alongside decadent bites like caviar-topped tea eggs.

17. General Provisions by Alfred’s

General Provisions by Alfred’s is a premier all-day artisanal destination located on the third floor of The Landmark’s Gloucester Tower.

18. Madé

The artisanal French madeleine boutique Madé has soft-opened on the slopes of Central.
