Single on Valentine’s Day? You are not alone.
From algorithm-powered matchmaking and fitness sessions to food tours or raves, Hong Kong’s social scene is buzzing with creative ways to celebrate – or completely ignore – the day of love.
Here are 10 anti-Valentine’s Day activities around the city for those not (yet) coupled up.
1. Anti-Valentine’s Singles Party at The Stage
The Stage is back with its Anti-Valentine’s Singles Party on February 14, starting at 9pm. The party uses a bold system of relationship-status bracelets, so everyone knows who is officially single, taken or … feeling tempted.
There are three ticket tiers: basic access to the party with one welcome drink (HK$250/US$32); a free-flow option with three hours of wine and bubbles (HK$498); and a three-course dinner with entry package (HK$698) at the venue’s first-floor Casa Sophia Loren restaurant before the night starts.

2. Cupid’s Coffee Run

Run clubs might really be the new dating apps. This Valentine’s Day, Koko Coffee Roasters and The Skyliner are hosting Cupid’s Coffee Run, an alternative to the usual bar or party scene.
The event, which kicks off at 9am on February 14, will start with a group run followed by a relaxed hang-out and lunch at a cosy coffee shop.
With a balanced mix of male and female participants, sometimes the best connections start with a shared stride and a good brew.

3. Lost & Found Singles Party by The Real Offline Club

Your chance to find a date for Valentine’s Day might be at The Real Offline Club’s Lost & Found Singles Party (starts 7.30pm on February 11) at Yume in Central.
Besides Japanese-inspired cocktails and house music, an exciting icebreaker is the Lock and Key game. The objective is simple: find the person whose key fits your lock and see where the night takes you.
Don’t forget to bring a friend, because the event offers “Wingmate Tickets”, where the second ticket for your plus-one is sold at a 30 per cent discount.

4. Valentine’s Mingle at Venner

Forget the pressure of a traditional date night. Cosy, Nordic-inspired Venner is flipping the script on February 5 with a casual Valentine’s Mingle starting at 6pm.
The event will include interactive games as well as its usual line-up of Scandinavian baked goods, coffee and natural wines.
This time, the sweetest thing you take home might be scribbled on a napkin, not just packed in a box.

5. Flow & Florals: A Galentine’s Day Special

Ditch the clichés for Flow & Friends’ Valentine’s Day event, which will begin with a one-hour mat Pilates class at 11am on February 14, followed by a guided creative flower-arranging session to craft your own bouquet.
With themed heart-shaped cookies, pink lemonade, goodie bags and mats provided, all you need to bring is your water bottle and your best energy.

6. Valentine’s Singles Rager

Thursday Dating regularly hosts in-person matchmaking events, but this time, they are using artificial intelligence (AI) to try to help you find someone to spend Valentine’s Day with.
The takeover from 9pm on February 14 at Central’s The Trilogy features dedicated areas for house, R&B and disco, and is open to all.
Using the Matchbox algorithm you will be paired based on an AI behavioural quiz upon arrival, and your partner will be revealed when the clock strikes midnight.

7. Anti-Valentine’s Day Party at Terrible Baby

If your ideal night this weekend involves a soundtrack and a strong drink, then the Anti-Valentine’s Day Party (from 8.30pm, February 14) at Terrible Baby is the place to be.
Served with two hours of free-flow liquid courage, the event will feature live music alongside DJ sets, including Poetic University, Black Lodge Cabaret, Fabsabs and Baby Diwata.

8. Dating Game Show at The Aftermath

For a night of live, unfiltered comedy that puts a hilarious spin on dating, head to The Aftermath for its Dating Game Show (7pm, February 14).
Imagine a classic dating show format where contestants face off through a series of revealing and humorous Q&As, all to win a chance at a blind date with three potential suitors on stage. Here is your chance to either find your soulmate or just have a good time and watch someone else find theirs.

9. A Spark of Madness Food Tour

This singles’ food tour ditches the awkward bar scene for a 2½-hour culinary adventure through Hong Kong’s bustling streets.
With five food stops and two drink stops featuring local favourites and hidden gems, participants can connect over shared plates in an intimate group of six women and six men.
February 11 (Wednesday) is for those under 30, and February 12 (Thursday) is for those over 30. The location will be sent over WhatsApp the day before the event.

10. Pitch Please

Fini’s Wan Chai branch will be hosting an event – with bingo and free-flow beer – that tests your friendship for a wingman dating night (from 7pm, February 11), so think carefully about who you want to bring.
Watch your hype person take the mic to pitch you live on stage as the ultimate catch, and sit back as prospective partners – hopefully – come flocking over.
You can grab a Pair Ticket (HK$280) for you and your wingman, or a Solo Ticket (HK$150) if you are feeling brave and the hosts will happily pitch you themselves. Just remember to submit a one-page “presentation” to the hotline (6941 9124) beforehand so your bestie has all the best material.
