Here are some hot new openings in Hong Kong this December, serving everything from regional Chinese cuisine to Japanese grilled meats

If you are looking for an excuse to venture to different parts of the city, a new restaurant is as good a reason as any.
Among the latest openings include a Japanese kappou restaurant at The Henderson building in Central, as well as outlets offering pre- or post-event meals at the East Kowloon Cultural Centre and Kai Tak Sports Park.
Two new authentic Cantonese eateries in the style of dai pai dongs have also opened in Wan Chai.

1. Hana no Kumo
Perched on the 38th floor of The Henderson in Central, Hana no Kumo offers an extraordinary Japanese kappou (a multi-course meal cooked in front of the diner) experience.
Under the guidance of executive chef Ogawa Masaru, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients and features exquisite dishes such as steamed abalone and sea urchin with seaweed sauce, sashimi, and donabe (claypot) rice with black truffles.
