From snake-themed events to whether your luck is in: discover all you need to know about the coming Lunar New Year in our Year of the Snake 2025 series.
What does 2025’s coming Year of the Snake have in store for those born in the Year of the Rooster (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017)?
Lucky colour: purple; lucky element: amethyst; Lucky number: 7
This is a strong financial fortune year for Roosters, so they can expect easy money from their jobs and careers, even in speculation, as there are two auspicious stars associated with money in their charts.

Employees can look forward to finally getting a promotion and pay rise, and huge profits will roll in for business owners. Both can expect huge leaps in their careers this year.
Roosters should try their hand at investing this year. As long as you get the timing right and accurately analyse market trends, you can achieve considerable returns.
The Year of the Snake tai sui, or the guardian deities, work well with Roosters this year and they will have strong luck. Friends will approach you for business or investment opportunities. Roosters should take that chance – after doing their due diligence and taking into consideration their risk appetite.
Wealth and career
In the new year, under the aid of the tai sui and many auspicious stars, Roosters’ careers will take flight. This is the year Roosters can make breakthroughs and lay a solid foundation for the next few years.
A friend will take the initiative to ask you to work with them in business or investment. This is something that Roosters might want to undertake after some consideration.
An auspicious star also means career development for those in disciplined services such as the police and the military. The construction and engineering industries will progress as well.


Love and relationships
People born under the sign of the Rooster will be lucky in love this year. Those who are single can expand their social circles by taking part in various social gatherings, such as with old classmates and colleagues.
At the same time, Roosters should let relatives and friends introduce them to potential partners – although, when making a new acquaintance, they should get to know the other person’s background and personality before committing to anything serious.
Those already married will get along well with their partners this year – but under the influence of a star that indicates a lot of socialising, coupled with more work and social commitments, the time Roosters spend with their partners will be reduced, which might leave room for misunderstandings, suspicion and jealousy to rear their heads.
Thus it is recommended they make time to spend with their partner. Marriage requires effort and, if they are achieving good results at work, Roosters should share their joy with their partner. Only by growing together will a relationship be long-lasting.

Health and home
With the help of the tai sui, this will be a healthy year for Roosters but a cursed star might affect their mood. Roosters should avoid places with strong yin, or negative, energy, such as hospitals, funeral parlours and cemeteries. These can have a detrimental impact on their aura.
They should also attend happy events, such as wedding banquets, celebrations of babies’ 100 days and company openings, which should lift their spirits and improve their luck.
This year, Roosters should strive to maintain a positive attitude and optimistic mood, since being happy can reduce not only their risk of suffering from serious diseases, but also minor illnesses such as colds and flus.
A busy work schedule and lots of social activities make their life irregular. Roosters should aim to exercise regularly to reduce stress, maintain physical and mental health in order to improve their emotional state, which will in turn enhance their fortune.
