Gordon Liu Chia-hui, born Sin Kam-hei, is one of Hong Kong’s most accomplished – and most loved – martial arts stars.
Liu achieved fame as the baldheaded monk San Te in 1978’s classic The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, and amplified his success with roles in films such as the idiosyncratic Dirty Ho, the cheery Heroes of the East, and the tragedy The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter.
Liu had a stroke in 2011 and suffered partial right side paralysis. He has been recuperating in a nursing home ever since.
