From snake-themed events to whether your luck is in: discover all you need to know about the coming Lunar New Year in our Year of the Snake 2025 series.
What does 2025’s coming Year of the Snake have in store for those born in the Year of the Dog (1932, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018)?
Lucky colour: green; lucky element: jade; lucky number: 3
Dogs, who had a hard time last year, will see their luck turning around this year. Under the influence of an auspicious star, their financial situation will steadily improve. Business owners will receive help from benefactors.

However, expenditures will increase along with income, making good budgeting necessary. And although money will flow in, the influence of an unlucky star means Dogs will tend to lose money as unexpected situations arise.
Dogs should avoid high-risk investments and gambling. For those who like investing, focus on low-risk products, and make regular bank deposits to protect your capital.
Wealth and career
Dogs will get a lot of help from benefactors this year, owing to a lucky star that improves networking and relationships. This will be especially true for those who own their own business.
There will be a lot of support from new and old customers, enabling smooth development, with opportunities arising everywhere. You may even wish to take this opportunity to diversify into a new area of business.
Those working for a company will have benefactors helping them at work, meaning a possible raise or promotion.
It may be a good year for Dogs not content in their current job to seek new opportunities. Switching jobs to further your prospects can be a good idea if done after careful consideration.


Love and relationships
Last year, the Dog clashed with the tai sui – the guardian deity of the year – resulting in emotional changes. But this year presents the chance to start anew.
The Year of the Snake is one of romance for Dogs, so there is a good chance you will meet your perfect match. Start the year with a makeover or refresh your wardrobe to maximise your luck in love.
The coming year is also good for Dogs already in a relationship to tie the knot.
Married Dogs are likely to exude an amorous air this year, so remember to keep a proper distance from people who might be attracted to your energy to avoid love triangles and destroying long-established relationships.
Health and home
The Year of the Snake is mediocre for Dogs in terms of health.
Under the influence of a cursed star, home fortune is also average. Dogs may wish to purchase home insurance and make minor repairs or replace furniture, as it may improve their fortune.
It is not advisable to visit people in hospital or those in mourning this year. Avoid cemeteries, funeral parlours and other places with strong negative energy to prevent contamination – it could have a bad effect on your personal aura.
Dogs should participate in festive occasions such as wedding banquets, store openings and birthday banquets. This can increase their positive energy, thereby improving their overall health and family fortune.
Because of the influence of evil stars this year, it is advisable for Dogs to do more volunteer work and to help people in need or donate to charities. This may balance the negative energy and accumulate good karma for them and their family.
