With Christmas and New Year behind us, and only Lunar New Year and spring to look forward to, Hong Kong’s venues are putting together a calendar of delights. This weekend, treat yourself to a night of disco hits and dumplings at Kinsman, and enjoy a refreshing Aperol Spritz at Pazta as the weather slowly but surely warms up. For those sticking to their dry/damp January ambitions (more power to you!), La Petite Maison has you covered.

What: It’s been nearly a year since SoHo bar Kinsman opened its doors, treating the city to its unique approach to bar bites and cocktails inspired by dishes, ingredients and flavours from Hong Kong’s heyday. As the bar gears up to celebrate its anniversary, Rachel Au and Sara Chang – the masterminds behind Kinsman’s hit plates including the shrimp toast and Wagyu ox tongue rice – are returning to dish out dumplings to a killer soundtrack of hits by Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui and more. Visitors can pair the decadent dumplings with libations from the venue’s second menu, titled A Tale of Hongkongers.

What: Some say it’s the second weekend of dry January that’s the toughest – though arguably each day is as hard as the last. This month, La Petite Maison aims to help you through the challenge with a series of non-alcoholic libations for HK$98 a pop. You can have your night out and drink it too!

For Negroni lovers, the Nogroni Sbagliato combines Aperitif Rosso, Italian spritz, Earl Grey and gentian root creations from Lyre’s into a fizzy evocation of the wonderfully bitter original. Meanwhile, the Tomati-NO serves a martini glass worth of tomatoes, juice, white balsamic vinegar and black pepper in a riff on the Bloody Mary – savoury with kick.
