Vibe: Omotesando Koffee trades the dark, noisy, and downright claustrophobic environment of many of Hong Kong’s cafes for a clean, minimalist aesthetic.
The layout is very open and welcoming, with wooden panelling and warm lighting. This place offers a quiet retreat from the hot and sticky crowds outside, and you’ll instantly feel relaxed when you enter.

Who to bring: There are long wooden benches that are usually free, so why not bring a group of friends for a coffee – or opt for a stool and share a dessert with a date.
Better yet, seize the opportunity for some peaceful alone time; the relaxed atmosphere in the cafe is great for studying, while the drinks and snacks will keep you well-fuelled.
What’s hot: The iced chocolate and iced matcha latte are two of the best drinks on the menu. The iced chocolate has just the right amount of sweetness, and the chocolate syrup lining the edge of cup makes it an extra special treat. The matcha latte, meanwhile, combines strong, distinctly-flavoured tea with creamy milk, but you might want to add some syrup if you like things sugary, as this drink comes unsweetened.

Another must-try is the French toast. It is evenly coated in egg, fried perfectly, and served fresh – ours was still crisp even after being doused with syrup, and still lovely and fluffy on the inside. The caramelised banana on the side is a great touch, adding a nice char and sweetness to the dish. With airy whipped cream to top the whole thing off, this dish is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
What’s not: Unfortunately, premium quality often begets premium price, and Omotesando Koffee is no exception. Just three items – two of which were drinks – added up to a total of HK$177. As the seats are all wooden stools without backrests, Omotesando Koffee might not be great for an extended stay either.
Cost: Price for drinks range between HK$42 and HK$70. Breakfast items and desserts range in cost from HK$58 to HK$98, while main meals range from HK$98 to HK$118.
