Chinese diving instructor arrested in Indonesia for allegedly killing and eating sea turtle

A Chinese diving instructor has been arrested in Indonesia for allegedly spearing, killing and eating a critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtle in Raja Ampat in Indonesia’s Southwest Papua province. The suspect, who reportedly shared video footage online of himself eating the animal, was detained at the airport while trying to leave the country. The man, who denies the allegations, faces possible fines, deportation and jail time if convicted.
