Thousands of Indonesians face food shortages and uncertainty after powerful quake
Over 5,000 people are living in temporary shelters after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck eastern Indonesia.
The confirmed death toll from a magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck eastern Indonesia on Saturday has reached at least 53. About 5,000 people have also been displaced from their homes by the quake, which damaged more than 1,500 homes and dozens of civic buildings. Many survivors in temporary shelters now face food shortages as the government prepares to deliver 50,000 emergency supply packages to victims.
