Millions witness Europe’s first solar eclipse in 27 years

The eclipse travelled through parts of Greenland and Iceland, before arcing across the Atlantic Ocean towards northern Spain.

Millions of people in Europe, North America and Africa witnessed a once-in-a-generation solar eclipse on Wednesday. Parts of Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain experienced a total eclipse that turned day into night, while millions more across the UK and mainland Europe saw a partial eclipse.
