‘There were no signs at all’: Thai shooter’s mother apologises for son’s deadly rampage

The mother of the gunman accused of carrying out a deadly shooting at a school outside Bangkok last week apologised for her son’s actions at his funeral on Sunday. Describing the boy as “bright and cheerful”, she said she had seen no indication that he would carry out Thailand’s worst mass shooting since 2022. Investigators say the 14-year-old also shot dead his grandparents at their home before he went to his school, where another six people were killed before he turned the gun on himself.
