Iranians flooded the streets of Tehran on Thursday evening, gathering ahead of the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Public ceremonies will begin this weekend, with his burial set for July 9 in his hometown of Mashhad. Mass processions are planned next week in Qom and Mashhad, alongside commemorations across Iraq. The 86-year-old leader was killed by US and Israeli strikes on February 28 at his central Tehran compound.
