A security guard was rescued on Thursday, eight days after deadly twin earthquakes in Venezuela. Forty-three-year-old Hernan Gil was freed from the rubble of a collapsed building by rescue teams from seven countries during a three-day operation. The death toll from the back-to-back quakes has reached nearly 2,600, with thousands more people still missing.
