Long queues of vehicles formed across Myanmar on March 4, 2026, as petrol supplies dwindled and stations shut their doors. It is a result of the US-Israeli war on Iran, which is disrupting oil flows and driving global prices up. Myanmar imports 90 per cent of its fuel and was already facing a fragile energy chain since the 2021 coup.
