North Korea has rolled out what it calls “the most powerful nuclear strategic weapon”, showcasing its new Hwasong-20 intercontinental ballistic missile, according to Pyongyang’s state media on October 11, 2025. The solid-fuel missile and other weapons were driven through Kim Il-sung Square on October 10 during a massive military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the country’s ruling party. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in a speech at the parade that sovereignty could be secured only through military might.
