‘It's Armageddon’: Los Angeles surrounded by out-of-control wildfires

At least five people have been killed in several fast-growing wildfires in the US state of California. The blazes, which broke out in Los Angeles county on January 8, 2025, have 
have been raging out of control, destroying hundreds of buildings, scorching hillsides and prompting officials to order some 100,000 people to evacuate their homes. Fierce winds have been hindering firefighting efforts and fanning the fires.
