Twitter has threatened to sue Meta after the Instagram parent company launched Threads on July 5, 2023, accusing it of trade secret thefts by hiring former Twitter employees. The new messaging app is seen as the biggest rival to the struggling site owned by Elon Musk. More than 30 million people had signed up within 24 hours after Threads went live in 100 countries, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said.
