TikTok influencers rally against potential US ban

TikTok influencers and politicians gathered outside of the US Capitol building on March 22, 2023 to protest against potential restrictions on the popular social media app. The rally came one day before TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew was set to testify before Congress about the app’s privacy concerns. TikTok is owned by its Chinese parent company ByteDance. Critics of the popular app argue that it could allow Beijing unfettered access to the private data of 150 million American users.
