US to require negative Covid test for China arrivals from January 5

US health officials announced on December 28, 2022, that visitors from China, including Hong Kong and Macau, will be required to produce a negative Covid-19 test result to enter the country from January 5. The country said the new measures are necessary because of limited information regarding the current Covid surge in mainland China. The US joins a growing list of countries that have imposed similar measures for travellers from China.
