French fries remain a favourite snack in Belgium despite soaring prices

Europe’s blistering summer has reduced the output of potato farms and as a result, the price of French fries has increased by up to 30 per cent. But the rising costs have failed to put off French fry fans in Belgium, where customers still queue for their favourite snack. French fry makers, though, are struggling to stay afloat because of skyrocketing cooking oil and energy prices.
