Taliban orders Afghan female TV presenters to cover their faces on air

A new Taliban decree has been issued for female television presenters to cover their faces on air, sparking  frustration. “A presenter must feel totally calm and relaxed during the news presentation, but today for the first time, I wasn’t feeling good at all,” said Sonia Niazi, a local TV presenter. The rule was announced on May 19, 2022, days after all women were banned from showing their faces in public.
